Communities
Regional Rundown
The Cedar Valley is a collection of interconnected communities, each with its own personality, pace, and perks.
From walkable neighborhoods to wide-open spaces (and plenty in between), there’s a spot here that fits.
Waterloo
A city with a strong industrial backbone, a growing downtown, and a whole lot of community pride. You’ll find nationally recognized employers, great food (don’t skip the tenderloin) and big investments in housing and recreation.
Cedar Falls
Home to the University of Northern Iowa and packed with trails, boutiques, and coffee shops. It’s a college town that feels like home, with historic neighborhoods and a walkable downtown full of energy.
Waverly
Wartburg College, the Cedar River, and a charming Main Street all meet here. Waverly is a go-to for community events and small-town character with just the right amount of buzz.
Independence
Known for its fairgrounds, access to the Wapsipinicon River, and a love of dirt track racing, drawing thousands of fans each summer weekend. Independence blends rural charm with a surprising number of amenities.
Grundy Center
This one’s got small-town nailed. Think: strong schools, low crime, high involvement. People show up here. At the Friday night games, the volunteer events and the backyard cookouts.
Small Town Charm
Each community has its own rhythm. Known for their parks, weekend events, hometown eateries and quiet streets. It’s easy to get to know them…and even easier to picture yourself settling in.
