Singlespeed Brewing Co. Recognized in Iowa Architect Magazine
Singlespeed Brewing is one of the Cedar Valley’s hotspots; offering a great experience with incredible food and beer options – located in both Waterloo and Cedar Falls, Iowa. Their reach has grown across Iowa and beyond, offering many of their beers in cans sold at retail locations.
In the winter edition of the iaarchitect magazine (pg. 32), Singlespeed was recognized for Excellence in Design, Merit for the $6.5 million development of the former Wonderbread bakery in downtown Waterloo, Iowa.
“This brewery, beer hall, restaurant, and retail space gives new life to a historic structure built in 1927 as a bakery and occupied by Hostess’ Wonder Bread.
The project renovated the existing structure and converted into a fully functioning brewery and restaurant while preserving the historical character of the building.”

The Singlespeed project also received a L.E.E.D. (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification. “LEED-certified buildings are resource efficient. They use less water and energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As an added bonus, they save money.”
